When I rt click on the block I made I don't get the edit component options. I copied a current block just changed the name so what am missing.

Hi!

There might be several reasons why, but if you left-click it first, and the right-click... Do you get the edit component menu then?
If you, on the Schematic tab, press "Edit" first, and then select the block, are you able to edit it then?

Hi there,

Was the block a 'smart' ACE block to begin with? By 'copy' are you trying to create a new block or are you duplicating a block so you drawing has the same block just more of them? Did you use the ACE or the AutoCAD copy tool? They are not the same thing.

If you can give us a little more detail as to what you are trying to do we may be able to offer a comment or two on why it is not doing what you think it should be doing.

I created a new PLC card symbol. I used symbol builder then saved with a new name. The new symbol doesn't have the component edit dialog like shown below.

And when you renamed the PLC card did you follow the naming conventions? If your block name does not start with the correct characters ACE may not know what to do with it. The block name can end with whatever but there are rules as to how the name starts. For a small power entry module, my name looks like ... HPW1_002_Pwr_Ent_Mod_1A.dwg ... the HPW1 tells ACE this thing is a horizontal power supply type device.

The card you used to make the duplicate, was it a full unit block insertion or was it parametric insertion?

What's the name of your new block? For PLC's it should have a name starting with PLCIO.
Use the RENAME command in AutoCAD to rename your block to something starting with PLCIO.
If that doesn't help, please post a DWG here, and we'll have a look.
