Try the attached lisp routine that Nate Holt wrote for ACADE 2008...

What it does is that you type in the block name (defaults to WD_M), attribute you want to change, the new value you want to place in the selected attribute, then select the dwgs to process. It will then go through the selected dwgs and change the ALL the selected attributes.

It is command line driven for the most part and only swaps to a dialog box to select the dwgs.

As it was written for ACADE 2008, you may need to do some modifications but it will give you a place to start.

Regards Brad

I want to write scripts to automate redundant tasks like changing text in a block field in a set of 70 drawings using FIND AND REPLACE. How do you instruct the script to TAB enough times to select the field to change and then to TAB over to select DONE? I cannot find any information on this.

Lee

If these are AutoCAD Electrical drawings, have you tried these functions?

And, there's no way to script interaction with dialog boxes in AutoCAD. You'll have to do some coding as well, in LISP, VBA, or .NET.
