How to load custom CUI ribbon tab in AutoCAD electrical 2023?
Note: Does it work this for AutoCAD Electrical 2025?
i made a custom ribbon using CUI and would like to load the ribbon on another computer.

Should i use the below method to load the ribbon?

Yes, you need the add the cuix file path under Options > File > Main Customization File

Here is a quick run-down on how to deploy a custom cuix on multiple computers.

Step 1

Select the customization file under CUI to modify (For Example, Acade.cuix)

Create a custom ribbon and any other changes you want to the cuix file.

Make note of the cuix file location under Filename.

Step 2

Open the location where the cuix file is located, copy and paste the cuix file to a network location where multiple computers can access it.

Step 3

Launch AutoCAD Electrical Options on the other computer, browse to the Main Customization File under the File Tab, and specify the new location for the cuix file.

These steps will work well, but I would also recommend you create a custom Profile to do this.

When using a custom CUIX file (custom ribbon or workspace layout), a great way to manage and deploy it is by creating a new AutoCAD profile. Each AutoCAD profile stores its own set of file paths, including the Main Customization File (CUIX) location.

1. In the Options dialog, under the Profiles tab, create a new profile

2. In the Files tab, update the path for the Main Customization File to point to your custom CUIX file stored on a network location.

3. Once everything is configured, export the profile to a .arg file.

4. On each workstation, import the .arg file and set it as the current profile.

This way, you can leave the default AutoCAD Electrical profile and its original CUIX file untouched. It's easy to roll out changes across multiple users by simply updating the network-based CUIX file and having all users use the same profile.

And if anything goes wrong in the future, users can simply switch back to the original acade profile.

I should also add that if you don't get your custom tab after changing cuix file on a different computer.

1. Confirm that Appearance Show is set to Yes

2. Simply drag a drop to change tab orders (For example, Move Schematic Tab to be Before Project Tab)

3. Click Apply

4. Change it back to its original Position

5. Click Apply and OK

Changing the order of tabs forces a refresh of the cuix.
