Thanks, sorry I probably wasn't clear in my post. I understand how to wire the plc.

I'm curious on how to setup the PLC in the PLC Database File Editor. I'm using AutoCAD Electrical 2018. The Help doesn't explain much about the Terminal Types. I copied 1762-L24BXB over to my 1766-L32BXB and was wanting to edit it to be accurate to the 1766-L32BXB. Problem is I don't understand how it is referencing each terminal point. What would Terminal one be on the 1766-L32BXB? Why does each Terminal Type say Wire Left or Wire Right?

The question about the COM can be seen in my attachment. COM 0 is for IN0,1,2,and 3 but in the PLC Database editor I don't know how to show that. Or if it is even necessary.

I will be taking a class on ACADE in January but I'm trying to learn as much as I can on my own in the mean time. This is one of those that I will definitely need some insight on.

Thanks,

Brandon

In the process of setting up a new PLC for loop drawings. Does anyone have a Allen Bradley Micrologix 1400 1766-L32BXB already setup and willing to share the setup info? I'm going off the Help and the 1762-L24BXB that's already in the database and I'm curious about some things. In the wiring diagram pdf it shows that IN0, IN1, IN2, IN3 are tied to the same COMMON internally but looking at the PLC Database File Editor (Terminal Type) I don't see an option for COM points.

Any help is appreciated,

Brandon

DC COM0 is for IN-0,1,2,3

tie this point to the neg of your DC supply.

Wire left means the wire comes in from the left and gets cut there and wire right means the wire comes in from the right and gets cut there.

The rung on the left of the ladder is normally the (+) and the ladder rung on the right is normally (-).

Hope this helps!

Dave
