I have had this from time to time and I have found the quickest reset is to simply select another open drawing tab (if you have several open) and then go back to the one you were working on. Or even just going from model space to paper space and back will work. If it happens frequently then you probably want to turn off the notifications as others have described.

"System Variable Changed" Message

So, I did not easily find this message elsewhere, for AutoCAD: Electrical. I did for other flavors of AutoCAD. I have been noticing the following message when using various AutoCAD: Electrical commands.

"3 of the monitored system variables have changed from the preferred value. Use SYSVARMONITOR command to view changes.
SYSVARMONITOR"

Sometimes the number is different for different commands.

Is this something that AutoCAD: Electrical LISP files do before starting the various AutoCAD: Electrical functions and thus normal? Is this "watchdog" a newer feature in AutoCAD, as I haven't noticed this message in earlier versions, even when first learning Electrical and was thus paying more attention to the command line. I am using AutoCAD: Electrical 2017 now.

Hi there,

That is a pretty good guess. What can happen is when you start a function / tool ACE will change some values to do it's job. When the routine is done it will reset the values to the original. But, if the routine is terminate before it finishes the value stuck until you reset them.

Good luck

Yes. The System Variable Monitor is a new feature of AutoCAD. Don't remember exactly what version.

You can turn off these notifictaions by typing SYSVARMONITOR on the command line, and uncheck this checkbox:

I have been keeping the notifications on, because I don't like it when FILEDIA = 0. At least then I know to change it back to 1, instead of finding out when a dialog is "missing in action."
