Hello,

I am finding it quite difficult to create a new terminal block footprint that I can also find and use in the Terminal Strip Editor, Catalog Browser.

I created a new symbol (.dwg file) named 8WH1000-0AG00. (I did use an existing Allen-Bradley symbol file (.dwg) as a template, so I had all of the attributes copied over. I saved it in the PANEL/SIEMENS/TRMS-TERMINAL BLOCKS folder. In the Footprint Database Editor, I added a new Table, named "SIEMENS". Within that table I added the 8WH1000-0AG00 component, and pointed the catalog database to the aforementioned .dwg file.

When I go to the Terminal Strip Editor, and try to assign a Catalog Code to the terminals in my schematics, the SIEMENS terminal is nowhere to be found. What step in this convoluted process did I miss?

It sounds like you've done it about right, did you use the lookup in the footprint database editor to make sure you have the manufacturer and catalog combination correct? I usually use the insert terminal from schematic list the first time if I don't have an assigned footprint, this will prompt you rather than adding a generic terminal, then return to the tse. For some obscure reason the tse won't recognise if you have the base file open

The Catalog Browser step was missed. Didn't even see there was an option to edit that table. That was the only disconnect, from above.
