I've created some special schematic symbols where I'm using the WDBLKNAM attribute to pull up a table in the catalog database. The table I have is IOL for IO Link components. However, it keeps pulling up the OL for Overloads instead. Anything that might correct this or am I stuck with it? The image below doesn't have all my attributes shown, but they are in there (TAG, DESCs, LOC, etc.).

I believe your new symbol is OL type that is why it is looking table OL. Try to create new symbol per new table IOL. If IOL is not available during symbol creation, use OL first then try to save under symbol name IOL when "close block editor".

The problem is that AcadE ignores the first character in the WDBLKNAM attribute.
Just like it do with the block names, where the first character is a H or V for normal components.
Try to write HIOL in that attribute instead, and see if that works.

I've tried renaming the filename with an H in front of it. That did not work. I even exploded the symbol and rebuilt with the symbol builder as a generic symbol name so the file was HDV1_014 while still have the WDBLKNAM set to IOL. It still continues to pull up OL (Overloads) instead of my table IOL (IO Link). We really don't use the overloads table because most of our catalog data for motor starters is under starts and the majority of our motor starters are hybrid with built-in overload. It's crossed my mind to delete the OL table, but I know I'll regret it down the road.

The WDBLKNAM value should be HIOL, not IOL.

Thank you so much! It's been a while since I've used the WDBLKNAM attribute and to be honest I completely forgot about the H or V in front.

You've saved me a lot of headache as always!

Thanks Trond!
