So, an older version of AutoCAD: Electrical the sheet numbers (%S) use to be stored next to the DWG file name in the WDP file. Some time ago that attribute was moved to a different location. Where is this new location?

It was always nice to be able to close AutoCAD: Electrical open the WDP in Notepad and be able to "batch" change the sheet numbers without Right Clicking >> Properties.... every sheet in new projects. Has anyone else found or created a new hack for this?

I've only worked with AcadE since release 2004, and the sheet number hasn't been at part of the wdp file in that period.
It's located in an attribute in the wd_m block in each drawing.

The easiest way to change the numbers in batch, is to export drawing properties to excel, number there add import back into AcadE.

Sheet values (%S value) can be changed / updated as required by using "Project-Wide Update or Retag" command from ACADE project tab. This command is very handy and effective when you do the one or more things (tick the box as required) in one sweep Project - wide.

Yes or NO, depends how you would like to run the command and how the project file, sub folders and drawings properties ares setup.

If I want to deal only with the sheet number, I uncheck the rest of the tas boxess and redefine the sheet number as I wish. It allows me to resequence the sheet numbers (1,2,3 ......) or redefine with unique system numbers (subfolder specific, because I have more than 20 subfolders - all are unique and have their own unique tagging, wire numbering, Xrefing etc) eg. AB_SH1, AB_SH2, ....... where AB is system code, SH1 is sheet 1, SH2 is sheet 2 and so on; - system specific drawings (AB) will be under AB subfolder. I can use subfolders as a filter to run the sheet number sequencing or redefining (sheet with unique number) the sheet numbers. It is great all in one command, works well, saves time I think.
