Its the same idea as CopyBase but works for AutoCAD electrical where it trims wires and retag components as well.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-electrical-forum/dpst-breaker/m-p/12987773/highlight/true#M83601

See this video below where I specify Base Point on the grid which makes sure when pasting it doesn't go off grid.

<video-js data-video-id="6361579571112" data-account="6057940548001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)

I would like to copy/paste some elements in my drawing but every time I do they find a new snap grid. Why on earth does it do that?

Use the COPYBASE command, or the copy/paste buttons in the ribbon menu. Then you'll be able to choose the insertion point when copying.
