Default plot scale in plot screen

When creating a new layout, Autocad populates automatically the plot scale.

How can I change this default plot scale?

You do that by creating your many desired layouts in a template file, then importing the layout you want from that template file instead https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_Yj1pZcJRk

You right click on list of layout tabs and select "New Layout". A new layout is created with a certain Plot Scale.

From where this DEFAULT plot Scale is taken and how can this be changed?

Advice: I know you are averse to formal instruction in AutoCAD as being a waste of time but many of the questions you are asking are addressed in user's manuals, textbooks, and CAD classes. Local community colleges often have excellent CAD classes and since COVID, there are also many good online programs.

Answer: The default plot scale for a new layout is to fit model space in the single viewport created. Change the scale by selecting the viewport and choosing an annotation scale. Then lock the viewport. Change the size of the viewport by grip editing. This is the AutoCAD, NOT THE AUTOCAD ARCHITECTURE, practice. The correct process in AutoCAD Architecture is to create a new sheet, using the project navigator and to drag views onto sheets. In ACA there should only be one plotted layout per sheet file.

I agree with @pendean 's approach.

The above statement is a matter of opinion (one of the two statements I happen to agree with; one I do not). Those are possible methods of accomplishing those particular goals, not the only correct way of doing it. Autocad, and its verticals, has many different ways of accomplishing the same task, you have to find one that works for your workflow.

There is no default scale, it is not "taken" from anywhere, and you cannot change or set it either, except as I noted in message#2.

Yes, that's my opinion. Perhaps I should clarify:

Per National CAD Standards, there should only be one plotted layout per sheet file. I often ignore that in AutoCAD, especially when not using sheetsets, personally having up to 12 layouts per sheet file, but in ACA the sheet creation process when using PN to create the sheets, follows that NCS recommendation. When attempting sheet, view, and xref management yourself, anything goes. When I use ACA, I find PN methods worthwhile.

AutoCAD Architecture - About Sheets -is worth reading.

It is possible to code/script the layout creation process to automatically create any layout setup automatically, including viewport creation. For those who just want a quick way of working, the "from template" option is preferred to the "new layout" option.
