Hi, we're updating to 2024 and when I open AutoCAD Architecture I'm getting a 'Proxy Information' error message (see below)

It is suggesting that Factory isn't installed. However once I press 'Ok' all the factory items appear to be there. Has anyone else had this issue? I know I can hide proxy errors in AutoCAD but I don't want this to cause us unforced issues.

We have just re-installed the software as this happened when we first tried. Any suggestions appreciated

(Also posted on the factory forums)

"ok" does not magically install anything, you're just responding to that informational (not error) pop-up with a response it is asking you to confirm.

Why not just turn off PROXYNOTICE variable (that pop-up) like you probably had it in your older version.
Then turn on PROXYGRAPHICS and PROXYSHOW variables (most likely what you also had in your older version).

All three variables are explained in HELP.

I don't know what "factory design" is, but ACA never has had it and still does not. you're probably in need of some Object Enabler or something to be installed. That other forum may be able to shed light on it. In the meantime you can halt your reinstalls of ACA for now unless you are having other issues.

HTH

There are no object enablers I can find to download for this. We didn't turn any proxy settings off in previous versions to the best of my knowledge, so I don't think that is it.

@Josh_Hudson97 wrote:

I'm not saying that pressing ok is the correct thing to do (hence my post)

Factory Design is a Autodesk Product Designed to allow users to draft in 2D AutoCAD and then sync to 3D Inventor

https://www.autodesk.co.uk/products/factory-design-utilities/overview?term=1-YEAR&tab=subscription

I'm aware that I could disable the notification but I'd like to understand if it something I need to get sorted so Factory can work properly. There are no object enablers I can find to download for this. We didn't turn any proxy settings off in previous versions to the best of my knowledge, so I don't think that is it.

I'm not sure you quite understood what I wrote: try again? the only thing you are turning off is that informational pop-up that has you stopped in your tracks, nothing more. The other two variables ensure nothing is hidden from you.

You'll need to ask over at that other forum for guidance about that software's content in your files: Autodesk creates a lot of software, and not all of us use all of them all the time around here. Sorry.

Whatever you folks used with your previous version with this other software seems to have been forgotten perhaps: does installing that FDU2024 version help ACA2024 somehow? Find out.

Note that FDU is

Just in case you're not aware, we are all end-users just like you in this forum, no one here is Autodesk Support. For that, you'll need to access and contact from your Accounts Page.
