Hi @twox2,

Thank you for the additional details.

When you say that you can't see the ceiling, do you mean that the Xref is loaded, but simply not displaying?

When it's not displaying, if you check the Reference Manager, what does it say about the Ceiling Xref's status: Loaded, Not Found, Unresolved?

If you post a screenshot of that, it might be helpful to see exactly what you're seeing.

In that same vein, could you record a quick Screencast showing us exactly what's happening?

The issue sounds complicated enough that it is difficult to understand by explanation alone.

I have 2018 architecture. I have a base plan that has a ceiling grid installed on it. I have 3 people who can see the grid in the base plan and in the final xref. However, one person can't see it at all. I have gone to display manager and the ceiling grid is checked. I have checked to see if xref was on an odd layer and it isn't. I open the file and I can see the grid both in the base plan and the xref. I created a new xref base plan and rexref it and everyone can see it but the main Architect. The person who can't see it is the main Architect for that project, so they are in it all the time. Is there a setting that would show the ceiling vs another machine?

when your using xref you need to attach(sent that file also in the mail or in pen drive) that file also then only the xref can see during transformation to other its soure file

If not, could you provide a bit more detail about the problem?

Is the Xref a relative or full path?

Is the affected user connected to the same network in the same way that the other users who can see the Xref? (ie. Same office network, VPN, etc.)

Is the Xref showing as Unresolved, Not Found, etc.?

Are you all using the same version of AutoCAD Architecture, on the same operating system, with all the same updates installed? (Enter ABOUT at the command line and compare the version numbers for AutoCAD and ACA updates.)

no idea what salaimanimagudam's post was saying.

xref: it is full path and nothing is wrong with the xref. I think there is a setting set differently on that one computer.

We are all on the same network, same 2018 cad. two on windows 10, but the other two are on windows 7 (which one can see the layer and the other can't)

The person who is having the trouble: main file is where the architect works and can see the ceiling. Then wblocks the portion of the file needed for the engineers. when he creates the wblock base plan and go into that file, the ceiling doesn't appear at all. Then the engineers xref that base plan in and you can't see the file there also. none of the 4 people can see the ceiling in the base plan when this person creates the wblock. everything is turned on and not locked.

So I create the same wblock base plan from his file and go into that file, the ceiling appears. Two other people do the same thing and they can see the ceiling plan.

So it comes down to that one person computer. I think it is a setting...

alright, I think I have a solution.

I started to attach files and then went to user 1 computer who was having the issues.

I notice his computer opened up 2013 and not 2018. I started to play around with the files and notice it is a version issue.

2013 the grid wasn't wblocking, but in 2018 the grid wblock fine.

When I installed his 2018 and migrated, I must have forgotten to make the 2018 open/load any cad files.

He knows he has 2018 but was using 2013. A lot of the office hates 2017 and 2018. So many issues and it is not the computers.

thanks for the help!!

The file format change with 2018 certainly adds a level of complexity to the situation. I'm glad you were able to get it sorted!
