    <description>&lt;P&gt;It depends on what renderer you are using, I'm going got assume that you are using Arnold, select the skydome light and then in attributes section find the 'Arnold' section and set the 'Camera' scroll bar to 0. This will prevent Arnold form rendering your hdri in the view but it will still be used to light the view. Hope it helps : ) &lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You can set the Sky Radius to 0 in the &lt;EM&gt;Viewport&lt;/EM&gt; attributes of the Skydome light. An easier thing to do is add the following to a hotkey:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;setAttr "aiSkyDomeLight1.skyRadius" 0;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;As this is a frequently asked question we have provided both the question and answer in this thread.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;This worked to hide the sky dome in the viewport but it still rendered for me in the renderer. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How do we see it in viewport but it doesn't visibly render as a background?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;That actually hides it in the render.
