thats one way to get it, but its not a safe way for the simple reason that some people they dont always use the default path, they might just use something like this:

Object/arnold_light C:/Users/blairs/htoa/otls/arnold_light.otl

It s a good idea if they put version info in hip file, just like that redshift does(houdini as well).

simple, that s for plugin installation purpose.

Say you've a project that out-sourced to different groups, they might use different versions of a plugin, blablabla
