HtoA version always so behind the production version

The same day that the last release HtoA 6.3.5.0 happened, there was a new production version of Houdini: 20.5.410
It took a long time from your last iteration to release a new one to accept the last production version of Houdini.

Most of the times, I guess is just matter of compiling and do the CI/QA tests to make it work as new productions versions of Houdini usually don't have more than fixes. So you could just release the current HtoA version to the new production of Houdini with no new features just to make work the new productions version.

You know that in production, a lot of times, we are just waiting for the last production version to fix some of our reported bugs and is very inconvenient not having Arnold at the time to keep working too and move along.

I would encourage to try to roll the current versions of HtoA to new production versions of Houdini asap, and then you could keep going with your features and fixes, but at least have something to work with guys.

Is very annoying and inconvenient.

You haven't made it work. It shows up without doing anything but does not work. Diagnoses are not passed!!

I tried to rename the folders (both), and change the htoa.json package, but still does not work.

You know that ADSK always get an email from SideFX when a new production build is available!
so why there is no build for the latest release? ask them ! you never get an answer!
1- rename 3.70 to 410 like this:

2- edit your htoa.json file and rename 370 to 410 like this:

make an effort!
it works for mac and linux, you just have to replace the VERSION number! It's as simple as it gets!

Hey everyone,

HtoA 6.3.5.1 was just released, it's built against Houdini 20.5.410.

(and just to reiterate - going forward I'll be making new HtoA builds whenever a new production build comes out instead of trying to time it with our internal release schedule, because that clearly isn't working very well)

Anyway, thanks Tom.

I think if you make builds whenever a anew production build comes out without trying to time it with your own releases, will be the best solution. Sometimes we have to wait 2 months and is NOT reasonable.

I am really glad you listened. I hope this is ensured over time and from now one not having this problems. Will be very useful for production.

It may take a little bit of time for the release notes to publish, but I do see the builds in the downloads portal
