Hello,

Im having problems with Arnold in C4D in that the IPR window is showing watermarks. Ive just installed LMTOOLS and followed all the instructions for installing the new licence and nothing has changed. Its telling me the license is installed but still watermarks in the IPR window. What do i need to do please to resolve?

What tells you the license is installed? That sounds like you're trying to install the license as a node-locked license.

Did you set the ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE environment variable?

https://support.solidangle.com/x/1JDhAw

If you're using the latest C4DtoA, then you can use Plugins > C4DtoA > Help > Licensing > Connect to License Server.

If the license server is on the same machine as CINEMA 4D, then you can enter @localhost

If you're still getting a watermark, check the Arnold log:

https://support.solidangle.com/x/jZPhAw

I would also check the license server. On the LMTOOLS > Server Status tab, click Perform Status Enquiry.

Stephen,

thanks for your reply but I haven't got a degree in computer programming and I'm just a NOOB. All this is over complicated and pretty extreme just to install software. What happened to simplicity?

Out of desperation I deleted everything off my computer relating to Arnold and did a fresh install and its worked without having to go through any of this complicated process just to get the license file to work.

I understand that setting an environment variable and checking the Arnold log might seem complex, but those actions do not require a degree in computer programming.

If you have an Autodesk license that requires the Autodesk Network License Manager, I don't see how a fresh install of Arnold would set up the license server, or set the required environment variable.

Well I don't know but its worked so I'm up n running and happy. As an end user all I want is simplicity and ideally a two click solution- 1 click to install the software and 2 clicks to install the licence. Anything more than that is off putting because someone like me has no idea what it is they are modifying.

Can you please check the error messages in the Console? Did you sign in with your Autodesk account in the License Manager?
