AOVs no working

I have a scene in cinema and I configure the AOVs of diffuse direct, diffuse indirect specular direct etc, but it does not render the AOVs to the ipr screen in black nor when it configures the output to the exr file all in black, what could this be due to?

Hard to tell without seeing your setup. Make sure the AOVs are properly assigned to your display driver and there are no debug features enabled in the IPR or in the render settings.

I think I have everything configured correctly as always but it doesn't work, I don't know why it will be due

the file is too big excedes 71 mb I tried to compress it but it still exceeds the allowed amount... is a scene infoarchquitecture, how can i get it to you?

Do you need the geometry for the AOVs? Probably not

hi, here also AOVs are not working. shadow AOVs for example is deactivated and greyed out in rendersettings after adding it to the "active" column. and the images are black in IPR when selected in dropdown. i tied newest version, GPU, CPU, Picture Viewer,... no success...

new scene, cube, plane for catching some shadows, arnold light, camera, activate / add shadow AOV, select in dropdown, black.

maybe i miss a checkbox?

Note, that the AOVs listed under shadow_matte in the list (shadow, shadow_diff and shadw_mask) require the shadow_matte shader:

The only AOV here which works out-of-the-box is the shadow_matte builtin AOV, and that is only on CPU. (The * indicates, it's not supported on the GPU yet.)

thx for you reply, shadow matte works. but the others do not work or do not behave like in other programms? they are still blaxck. i attached a video where i setup a simple scene with shadows. maybe you can have a look and tell me if i am a noob or there is something wrong with the AOVs. THX!

Those AOVs are specific to the shadow_matte shader, meaning you have to add a shadow_matte shader to your plane to have any information in those AOVs. Look at the AOVs section in the shader docs: https://help.autodesk.com/view/ARNOL/ENU/?guid=arnold_core_ac_shadow_matte_html

Ok I see, thx. I just looked into c4d manual... Shadow multipasses seem to be CPU exclusive and not work on GPU?

Yes, they are not yet supported on the GPU.

You have Indirect AOV enabled in the Sky, that's why you don't see its contribution in the direct AOVs.
