topic Marking Menu Sub-Menus in Alias Forum

Hallo,

I quite like the new Marking-Menu-Editor in Alias 2019.

But I cant edit "sub menus" in the editor.

(The picture "Marking Menu Sub-Menus.jpg" shows what I mean with "sub menu")

Actually I guess, the Marking-Menu was never ment to have such option. I once figured it out by accident. Still I think its great to have sub-menus, like in Maya for example.

Until Alias 2018 it was possible to create/edit this with a little workaround. Now with Alias 2019 its still possible to use the created sub-menus from Alias 2018 when imported. But not possible to create or change entries there with the new Marking-Menu Editor.

So I'm not sure if this is an idea/suggestion for a new feature, or just a fix. But is it possible to keep/add such option to the new Marking-Menu-Editor?

kind regards, David

In 2019 in Update 1 (the most recent update) you can add submenus and they behave like they used to. However the editor they don't display the yellow arrow (it's a bug), so it's hard to tell (when you drag a submenu in ) that Alias added the submenu (bit it did).

Hallo

Thanks for the quick answer.

Right. So I have to build my sub-menu first in another shelf, and than add it to the marking-menu.

To change the sub-menu, I need to rebuild. or better save the other shelf somewhere.

Maybe that could be easier, but it works fine for me.

Thank you.

Cheers, David

You can drag tools into the sub-menu by dropping the tool to the right side of the tool in the editor. That will append the tool to the end of the sub-menu. But it's probably easier to use another shelf.
