Alias can open .prt and .asm files directly ( based on the PTC granite kernel). I suppose Creo still supports .prt extensions?

Please confirm that Alias 2019 has compatibility with Creo 4.

We usually use IGES for Creo to Alias. We use STEP for Alias to Creo.

Thanks,

Bob Osbrink

Hi Bob,

As you probably know, Alias does not have direct translation built in for PTCs Creo. It’s the same for 2019.

The solution of using STEP and IGES can be used with 2019 just as before; for Alias 2019 and 2019.1 we introduced just a few enhancements for either translators. In general one can say ‘what worked before will continue to work with 2019’. (Especially as - according to my knowledge - Creo has been not subject of updates since 2015).

Hth
Thomas

Hi! Could you explain the benefits of using the workflow Creo->Iges->Alias instead of using stp?

Trying to figure out a stable workflow using Alias for surfacing and Creo for B-Surface any input on that matter is appreciated.

Hi

Im exchanging files between Alias and Creo, and Creo and Alias (Step files) and I get a difference in measurements in between files (for example when checking technical radii)
Is there a recommendation of specifications when exporting-importing files that can help improve this?

Thanks!
