Alias on macOS. Which solutions and system version?

Hi everyone,

Since Autodesk stopped to support Alias for Mac I am stuck on Mojave, this is very annoying.

Any of you did an macOS update to Catalina, Big Sur or is using a virtual assistant to run Alias on Mac?

I'm using Alias 2022.1 on a MacBook Air (Intel based) running the MacOS BootCamp utility: better than I can imagine in a so small and light computer.

ok good to know, is it stable?
Have you ever tried virtualization solutions?

I am car designer so I frequently switch from Photoshop to Alias so I am wondering if virtualization can works well.

I am actually considering the same, using Alias with a macbook pro..I hope you won't mind me joining this topic 🙂

How does Alias works with heavy scenes?

Have you tried it with windows installed on the macbook?

Hey, for sure you can. They are actually lot of people who wanna use Alias on Mac.

I was using it on a 2010 MacbookPro for a while, Alias was working perfectly on macOS at this time.

Now I have a 2018 iMac but stuck on Mojave only because of Alias.

It still working well but I can't enjoy new upgrades and features such as SubD.

That’s why I’m trying to find a solution, maybe by using virtual machine such as

VMware or parallels but I never used it before.

After July 13, 2018, Autodesk will no longer provide new Mac versions of VRED and Alias, beginning with version 2019.1. VRED 2019.0 and previous versions are supported on: OS X 10.11 El Capitan Gala.
