The mulcol shader causes Alias to permanently hang upon selecting the shader, with the progress bar remaining at 0:00 and never fully completing. It doesn't happen every time I select mulcol, but it seems to have the potential to happen in any file no matter how simple or complex the scene is, even occurring in situations where only a single subd object is visible. I'm using Alias Surface 2021.2.

Ok...the GPU is certified but the driver # isn't a valid driver number, as far as I am aware.

The certified Alias driver for that GPU is Nvidia 462.31

Please try downloading and using this driver...(select the Alias app from the list and locate your GPU)

Thanks, I'll try this and let you know whether it fixes the issue. Still waiting to see if it happens again.

Take a look at your diagnostic shading settings...
If you have setting for very, very tight values and the model is large, shading can get stuck.

Example of a setting to watch out for:
- Tolerance (small) <0.01
- Accurate
- Limit edge length
- Max edge length (to tiny value) <1 mm or even smaller...
