There have been some right-click menus that are excellent and others that are not so excellent.

Initial right-click menu I recall (being effective and beneficial) was for the previous IBM OS/2 operating system. Given that it was situational sensitive, this was really helpful. It was a quick method to get to more features, but only the ones that applied to the situation you were in.

Autodesk's 3D Max application was like this and still is to some extent, despite the fact that it offers so many options that, even when organised into groups and hierarchies, they can be overwhelming until you get used to them (which, by definition, makes it less than intuitive).

Unless you are already familiar with it, the Maya right click menu appears to be a mess. It is difficult for me to read. The theory is sound, but the execution is poor.

Although the right-click menus in Adobe CC are generally effective, they can be a bit confusing and less than intuitive. This is partly due to the complexity of some of the applications, like Photoshop.

As mentioned earlier, there have been some instances of "flowers" being used in medical imaging, but these typically involve a learning curve because their design is frequently based on the expectation of averages. This indicates that while a small minority can utilise them intuitively, the majority of users are compelled to deal with the learning curve.

I have first-hand knowledge of what it's like to become intimately familiar with a particular software programme due to frequent use in professional settings and the requirement to make the most of it. This familiarity results in a deep level of expertise with these applications, but it also has limitations because the expertise is application-specific. Because frequency of use is frequently interpreted from the user's (in this case, my) perspective (me) as intuitive even though there isn't a true analogue in other common areas, this creates the illusion of intuitive understanding.
