So it's admittedly hard to reproduce. Some of my files do it, some don't. But I caught it once and explained below. Oddly enough in this instance it didn't happen when I turned layer symmetry off.

Surface from a model I have moved off somewhere. Layer symmetry applied here.

Extend, extrapolate and merge on.

Undo while tool still active. It creates a second surface where one of the hulls shoots off down to where the surface originated.

You can see it creates a second surface just called "extend".

If catch it again with any more clarity I'll post more. It's not a big deal, just slightly annoying.

Alias 2026 Extend Undo

Currently using 2026 Surface and I found a bug with the extend tool. When you undo an extend operation while in the tool, it duplicates the surface and sometimes sends one of the hulls in a wild direction. In my case it's with extrapolate and merge on. Haven't tried the other settings. It names this extra surface as "Extend #....." I have to delete it every time. The original surface will undo to the previous state just fine.

I'm not able to reproduce the behaviour you describe.

I'm using AutoStudio 2026.0 and Extend seems working as expected (with extrapolate and merge on).

Please, could you upload a simple wire file with a surface that gives you that wrong result? Or a short video.
