Missing Dimensions on Drawing

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can explain why my drawing is missing some key dimensions?

The attached image shows an assembly drawing of a beam with some flats attached to it (F1017, F1018, F1022 and F1023), however, there are no horizontal dimensions shown for positioning these parts on the beam.

What am I doing wrong or what have I missed, appreciate if someone could explain how I get these dimensions to appear please?

Are these parts named in the Advance Properties palette under Naming - Model Role, I believe this can affect the way things are dimensioned.

hi,

as Grivent says it is a matter of model roles and settings in your drawing styles.

you can add or adjust your drawing style in the drawing manager.

If you aint tell Advance that there is a dimension needed for thate plates with model role "........" you won't get a dimension.

Many thanks for the replies, I'll have a look at where I went wrong with naming. I had thought I had assigned roles to all of the items I had generated, however, when using Connection Vault do I need to assign roles to each of the elements created? for example the beam in my screenshot I had assigned as a Beam though when creating the connections to the beam I did not assign roles to the connection elements is this likely where I went wrong?

HI David,

You only need to assign the model role to objects added manually to the model.

Anthing added with the connection vault will have the model role automaticially assigned.
