Is there a limit to profile definitions in a Database Table?

So I created a custom profile for Architectural Channels. Everything is working just fine except that in Advance Steel, I can't see past a certain shape. In this case, It's the shape "Channel 5 3/4"x3x1/8". This is line 1168 in the database, but I biggest shape is at line 2171. Everything after 5 3/4x3x1/8 does not show up in Advance Steel.

I used Excel and forumulas to populate this list of profiles and it all worked great until that line and I can't see anything different on the lines >1168. So I'm wondering if there is a limit to how many lines you can have in a table.

well, I removed a bunch of lines, and I do see the rest of the lines. It seems there is a limit, but I don't see it documented anywhere, so I can't be positive.

maybe just for me: you have a table form a profile with more then 2000 lines (2000 profiles?)

Yes, but it's not what you think. The profile is a channel with sharp corners. I feel practically there are like 30 available profiles from vendors. But I always get a request for some random size that some obscure vendor makes. So I decided to just make a bunch of sizes and leave it up to the designer if the profile is available. So I created an Excel sheet with formulas that will populate all 2000 lines. It takes very little time to make the entire table.

Because my list of profiles gets cut off, I just deleted what I believe to be silly profile sizes lol. So I got it down to 1400 lines, and they all show up (at least I think they do, I didn't count them in AS).

I tested the behavior on my side, and here is what I found:

The database does not have a limit on how many sections you put there.
But there is a limit in the "Advance Properties" dialog box.

The drop-down list expects tens or hundreds of sections. It was not designed for thousands 🙂

I could not determine the exact limit (we probably need to go deep inside the code). But on my tests it went through ~1150 records.

So maybe you could limit to maximum 1000 sections in 1 table, for safety.

(Even 1000 sections are really a lot for a single catalogue. A lot of mouse scrolling to find&select the desired section 🙂 )
