Numbering for Stand Alone Parts

Hi,

I use the attached png numbering method.

But I get an 8 digit number for stand-alone parts?

Probably the solution can be that I should change sp method from MP:1000,1,2,3 to MP:1,2,3; but then the stand-alone parts got some 1 digit number which is not good for me

Hi,

Check the Behaviour page of the Properties on those parts. If Used for Bill of Materials is not ticked for Assembly then you will get numbers like that.

It is ticked. I think the problem is about the numbering method.

Hi @mehmet.ertem

It seems that the numbering method gets in conflict (or circular reference) with the post-numbering method.

- The numbering method tries to set the MP number equal to the SP number

- The post-numbering method tries to set the SP number equal to the MP number.

Since you are trying to get the SP number = MP number for standalone parts, it is enough to use:

either the numbering method "SP: 1000,1001…..;Mp:1000,1,2,3" & no post-numbering method
OR the numbering method "SP: 1000,1001…..;Mp:1,2,3" & post-numbering method "Sp No (for standalone part) = Assembly No"

Thank you for your precious help.

Unfortunately, I still face that problem. For ex:

In the pic below, you can see that I used no post number method, and use the method for MP:1000

But the result was unexpected for me, as I would expect to give that channel sth like M1017 for sp; and B17 for mp (mp is correct).
