how do i feature cut a pattern equally in a plate?

I am trying to cut a notch into a plate to a certain depth on all 4 sides of my plate, however, when i make the cut on the opposite side it cuts all the way through. is there a way to disassociate the two features to keep it from going all the way through?

Hi,

There should be in the properties and option to control the depth of the contour, you need to set these values. There are relative to plane the contour was created. In your model you have set this depth.

if you select only the features you create , you could use one of the advance steel copy tools to copy it. For example the 3D copy tool, use the center point of the plate, and set the axis and it should copy it over.

make sure you use the AS copy tools.

if insure use the transform elements command as this gives you a preview.
