Submission/ archiving of final CDE

Hi all,

I am currently finishing off this semester of my post-graduate in aBIMM, and the final project was a collaboration with three other team members, all with individual design disciplines and models. Everything has been shared and coordinated on ACC with a federated PIM now produced.

Now that we are at the final Data Drop (the competed PIM,) my question is how should I submit the federated model so that I ensure that all models, sheets, schedules and views are safely incorporated. While it has not been explicitly requested, should I be following an archival process, and if so, what are your thoughts?

This kind of thing is usually dictated by a BEP at project inception and can vary quite a bit. I would get together with ALL interested parties and come up with a game plan.

We wrote the BEP, so we missed that part, and I'm the only interested party.

I'm more interested in the technical side of the answer, rather than the theoretical.

The other interested parties would be everyone that you collaborated with and whoever you are submitting to.

In my experience, there are a wide variety of client needs when it comes to final submission.

The easy answer is send all three models.

It's not going to be easy if you need a single model with all three disciplines and their associated sheets, etc. Combining the models should be easy. Having the views and sheets included and matching the separate models can be quite an undertaking depending on the size of the project. I've never had to do that so I am stepping away from this conversation for now. Hopefully, someone that actually does this on a regular basis can help you.
