topic (2019) New(-ish) Autodesk Sketchbook UI is utterly baffling. Please help in SketchBook Forum

Hello everyone,

In the interest of giving full context, allow me to start by saying that I've been using Autodesk Sketchbook for years. Before it was made free, I used to spend what little money I had maintaining a subscription. I then became intimately familiar with the old Desktop Version's UI.

Due to recent and numerous issues with my convertible laptop, I have reinstalled the app to find it has completely changed. Evidently, the copy I had before had not been updating automatically. I'd gotten to keep the old UI design I was familiar with until I reinstalled it. I have since found it extremely difficult to navigate. The forum posts have not been very helpful, nor have the tutorials.

For example, I have noted an absence of the "Pen Mode" function in the menu bar. I would appreciate some reference of it in the desktop version help-thread. The "Pen Mode" is necessary for me, and in a place as accessible as the menu bar, because the way I hold a pencil/stylus has me resting my hand on the screen which causes sporadic touch inputs.

Lastly, the menu bar has changed drastically and is now difficult to manage in comparison to the previous system. Many of the tool functions do not operate the same way and I do not understand it. As a loyal user, I would like to see more thorough help or tutorials with so many changes made to the system.

Thank you for your time, and I eagerly await further correspondence.

For the most options/tools, you need to use the desktop version of SketchBook. The download is noted here:

www.sketchbook.com/thankyou

You can turn off touch and turn on touch on the fly in Windows 10. No reboot required.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/4028019/windows-enable-and-disable-your-touchscreen-in-wind...

I appreciate your response, but both aspects of your reply aren't of any help to me. Firstly, I am using the desktop version, as I stated in the initial post. Secondly, the entire purpose of trying to find the Pen Mode tool that was in the previous version of the software was because I use my fingers to pan, zoom, and otherwise move my piece as I work on it, but don't want accidental inputs when I am drawing. This was incredibly simple to do before, and I'd appreciate it if somebody knew where that particular function has been moved to.
