I am so sorry to tell you that if you don't save the file, it is gone. You can also "Add an Image" to your skectch.

NOTE: If you exit the app and don't save, it may recover and opened the last file.

I was working on just some basic sketches, testing some cartoon avatars of myself out when I decided to click and drag a photo into the program to work off of. I was able to do this in photoshop and forgot that sketchbook does not work that way. Well, it asked me if I wanted to save before opening a new file, I didn't understand because it is 2 am and clicked no rather than cancel. Is there any way to get that original file back. I found a thread that said close the program and relaunched it so I did that and it obviously didn't work. I'm on windows but not using the windows store app, I'm using the desktop app if that helps.

Sketchbook pro crashed on my Mac. It said "You must save your work in order to recover it." So I hit save, I save the work and the app closes. I send the crash report. I open sketchbook pro and it loads the project previously worked on. I make a mistake when animating and so I quit with out saving. (Because it asked me already to save it). I reopen sketchbook and the animation is gone.

PLEASE MAKE THIS LESS MISSLEADING. PLEASE MAKE SKETCHBOOK MAKE IT CLEAR THAT WHEN THE APP CRASHES IT DOES NOT SAVE YOUR WORK EVEN THOUGH IT ASKS YOU TO. 2 HOURS OF WORK LOST. THANKS.

I was working on a school project for 5 HOURS!!!! and on the bus, I accidentally quit the app cause an app was crashing a lot but I didn't realize that it was on that file cause I already saved it.
