I'm very new to using Autodesk so I'm probably missing something obvious. As I blend colors, the background bleeds through. How do I lock the background? It's like I'm painting on a wet canvas.

Thanks for the response! I'm working on a tablet and there isn't a screencast app for it unfortunately.

The best way I can describe it is: I use a plain, colored background, a pale pink or purple to make it easy on the eyes to draw. I make a transparency and do my lineart. Then I'll make a second transparency to start coloring it in. That pale pink background will mix into the colors I'm blending on the lineart.

So the layers, rather than sealing off the background, are interacting with the background color. What I'm trying to do is lock the background in its own layer so its color doesn't blend into the rest of my work.
