How to put a transparent background in sketchbook Pro ipad

Hello,

I have a very simple question. Step by step, how do you put a transparent background in sketchbook Pro ipad?

For example, if I create a word, TEST, in black font with a white background, how do I make the background transparent so that when I create a t-shirt design, you cannot see the background.

1. Draw TEST on first layer.

2. Click on Backgroun and make sure that it's transparent. A checker background will show up.

3. Save file.

4. Re-open file and make sure check background is still active.

5. Share image and email it to yourself.

6. Open file. It should save as .png and it will have a transparency set.
