Cannot install 2020.1.3 update

Autodesk desktop app tells me the AutoCad LT 2021 has an update 2020.1.3 update 64-Bit. but it will not download. ~I go to the release notes and it tells me to uninstall 2020.1.1 Update first by going to Uninstall a program. On the left pane, click View installed updates but I can not find this

No,

you have LT2021 and can launch this

AND

there is an Update 2020.1.3 available (fpr LT2020)

If you have LT2020.1.1 and you want to update it to 2020.1.3, then it is correct, you have to deinstall the update 2020.1.1 first.

Is LT 2020.x.x installed? Do you want to update it to 2020.1.3?

is the current version 2020.1.1? Then deinstall the update 2020.1.1 first

then install 2020.1.3

Hey, the Desktop App is not the best choice if you really want to know what is installed, or what is available.

What is installed: Open the product and run Command: ABOUT

What is available:

Updates: Look into your account: https://manage.autodesk.com/cep

The deck-top app keeps telling me to update AutoCAD LT 2020.1.3 but tot will
not download I have downloaded it from the web site and run it. The
installation fails.

The release note tells me to remove update 2020.1.1 when I do this I cannot
find the update 2020.1.1 Update but it tells me the 2020.1.3 Update was
installed on the 26/05/2020. So why does the deck top app tell me to
update?

1. Start your LT2020

Start ABOUT command

Upload a screenshot of the whole program window incl. the About dialog.

2020.1.3 update is for AutoCADLT2020, not the version you claim to have installed.

So which do you have, LT2021 or LT2020? ABOUT command will confirm it, post a screenshot.

I have both 2020 and 2021.

When I open 2020 there is a notification" you have one product update"

log in here to grab your 2020.1.3 update https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates
Use the BROWSER DOWNLOAD method, explained here if you cannot figure it out https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/download-install/download/about-download-methods/browser-download-method-for-autodesk-account

That's all you need to do. ADA (Autodesk desktop app) is a useless tool for some users, that seems to be you today sadly, so use it only as a reminder of what you might need, do the above to get any updates you need.

That's it. Nothing more to do. Do so now.

I have already downloaded and run the update it installs ok but I am still
told by the ADA I need to update?

Turn off ADA or uninstall it if you are unable to ignore it: its a buggy nanny-app that just does not work for some users, which sadly seems to include you now.

If you want to continue using it and trying to fix it's many issues and problems, there is a dedicated forum for that useless tool over here, start a new thread and someone at Autodesk will help you try many things to fix it (if it ever gets fixed) https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autodesk-desktop-app/bd-p/971

What is striking in the image of the desktop app:
Current status "downloading ..." [X]

Can you click the [X] right of the "Downloading" text?
and then if it works and the option [Update] re-appears,
what happens if you trying to update it again?

Logoff / Login Desktop App can help in some cases,
but if not: see Pendeans answer above: Useless Tool, kick it.

When I click the [X] right of the "Downloading" text

It says Update >initializing > Downloading the bar remains blank and nothing
seems to happen I have left the App open for hours but no change?

Ok I singed out and in and it no longer asks to update finally but now I
need a new licence for AutoCAD???
