Autodesk Desktop App Now Listing Updates

Hello,

I have an array of issues with the ADA.

First, is there any way to force ADA to update? Across 176 licenses, we have 12 versions of ADA installed. I know on the 7.0.10.89 version it can be checkmarked to automatically install updates for ADA, but is it possible to push an update for ADA out to all users? From what I've read the answer is no, but I wanted to be sure. Is the other option going individually, machine to machine, and updating to the latest version of ADA?

Second, users on the 6.0.45.5 version do not see any updates. Is that because of how outdated it is? For example, I uninstalled that version and installed 7.0.10.89 and 11 updates just for Revit 2017 appeared. 6.0.45.5 is the only version I've verified this problem with.

Lastly, does Revit 2017.2.3 not show up in ADA? Across all our machines, only 5 users have this installed (3 of which I did personally by downloading it directly.) Does it show up in some versions of ADA but not others?

I appreciate any help. I'm new to managing AutoDesk and this forum has already solved a couple issues. I apologize if these questions have been asked elsewhere.

Noticed an error in the title - it's supposed to be 'not,' not 'now.'

Also something I just noticed as I was setting up a new machine. All the updates in ADA were completed. Then I manually installed Revit 2017.2.3. I'm not sure if that triggered more updates, but 15-20 updates appeared after updating Revit to 2017.2.3. Most were Revit updates, but there was also other ones - like AutoCAD 2019.1.2.

Hi @Anonymous

Welcome to the community forum and thanks for posting your issue and related queries. Please see our answers below:

1. Yes, you heard correct. It is not possible to push an update for ADA out to all users.

2. You will need to share the ADA 7.0.10.89 Installer with the users and ask them to run the Installer.exe to be able to update ADA.

3. ADA version 6.0.45.5 is very old and no longer supported. You need to update ADA to latest version to see all updates.

4. If you are using latest version of ADA you should see all the applicable updates related to products installed.

Regarding Revit 2017.2.3 update issue, ideally if you are using latest version of ADA you should see all the applicable updates.

- Can you provide ADA version and debug logs from the machine (where updates are not showing) for our investigation. Please find the attached document for instructions on how to collect logs.

- Also, please send us screenshot of Products and updates page from ADA UI.

Best Regards,

Manu

What I mean is ADA does not display the 2017.2.4 update on any machine that does not have 2017.2.3 already. If a machine that has a fresh install of Revit 2017, is ADA supposed to show the 2017.2.4 update?

I don't see a REVIT 2017.2.3 available anywhere anymore on my accounts page, but that was replaced with REVIT 2017.2.4 https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates (sort by product).

FWIW ADA can skip updates for whatever reason, it remains a work in progress and remain the least reliable update method, good enough in a pinch.
