Hi,

Does this happen when you Test Level? When you do Run Project? Or only when you deploy?

Are there any warnings or errors in the log?

Did you customize the boot.package file from the character template?

compile for release along with development losses all of the assets except the building.

compile for debug i get "Windows engine run-time not found!

Looks like a bunch of errors in the error log.

The first errors are referencing a file called "mist_coater_screw_removal" which is not in my asset brouser any longer. also i deleted the stingray file at %localappdata%

attached is the log file. Looks like tons of materials issues. I went thru all materials in the asset browser and there are none with ?

That would explain it but without the project it will be difficult to tell what is causing the problem. I would do a manual check of all asset and make sure they exist where they should. If they do not show in the asset browser then they do not exist in the project. Stingray does not delete things without an explicit request to do so.

You may want to delete the data folder in your projects root. Maybe it is just going wonky... this is unlikely but would force a complete and fresh data compile of your project which would confirm the issue if not fix it.

Also check the folder structure.

Lastly if all above does not fix, please let us know what caused this... ie: updated stingray, moved a folder, etc.

A thought. I have the project filed on a different drive then my asset files. That said i started a new project and reinserted the assets but that must still not know where they reside?

I deleted the _data folder and wow! now all the assets are in their folders in the asset browser but not in the view. But....they are all there in the test level.

strange.

What are the rules for directories. I think I am going to start over with a new project. I'm getting pretty good and throwing this together just cant get the finial result. lol

im 90% sure you have 2 projects created and in your project browser that have identical names. Either that or there is something wonky with the shared directory you are using. Try this...

in windows explorer type in %localappdata% and delete the autodesk>stingray folder.

this will wipe out all the references for your projects. (basically its like giving you a fresh install of stingray)

Now slowly (1 at a time) add in your projects. Test between each new project added. Make sure you lauch and run them. If you want, create a new project to test before you start adding them back in. My guess is that you have something with a duplicate name somewhre but either way this will help clue you in.

If you get the error upon creating a new project directly after deleting that folder, then there is something wrong with your drive location. try storing them locally (maybe your documents folder) first. See if the error arises.

Thanks Paul That is pretty much what i did. I did find duplicate names and i used the "rename objects" in max. Also i went thru and solved any material issues. some were yellow with a ? mark. I found that Stingray does not like PSD files which i had a few. Everything is working now just trying to figure out if i can use LOD for slicing which is on another thread.

Thanks again for your help!
