1) Nothing looks overly suspicious to my knowledge:

2) Deleting the Cache did not solve the problem

3) Creating a new projecting in 1.4 does not solve the problem either. (the 100% occurs even in the project manager window)

4) Downgrading to 1.3 fixed it

Update!: For some reason it works as intended now(it consumes roughly 30-40% now) I have no idea why, but I will investigate further what caused it to work in this instance.

Thanks for the great support!

Hey,
the title says it all I suppose. Ever since the 1.4 update Stingray keeps using 100% of my CPU all the time from the very moment I launch it. 1.3 and before did not do this.(And yes I am running it in admin mode) Any ideas why this is happening all of the sudden? Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Thanks a lot in advance!

This thread may be relevant to the problem: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/stingray-general-content/testing/m-p/6467619/highlight/false#M5426

Shanii2 found that downgrading the nVidia driver resolved a similar issue.

The following troubleshooting steps may also be helpful:

1) Check for any suspicious messages in the log window after the level finally launches

2) Close Stingray and then clearing the cache by deleting the folder

C:\Users\[your windows username]\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Stingray

3) Try creating an entirely new project from the basic_project template instead of using your existing project.

4) If all else fails, downgrade to Stingray 1.3 to confirm that the new version is in fact the source of the problem.

Regards,

I remember comparing 1.3, 1.4 and 1.41 and they were all OK on CPU consumption.

Next time it happens, look in your processes and be sure that anything starting with 'Stingray' is not running...

or else launching Stingray again will just exacerbate the problem.

I recently encountered this on 1.5.

Where the processor was at 100% when running 1.5.

I had to disable McAfee in order to circumvent the issue.

Let me know if anyone else is experiencing this issue with McAfee or any other Anti-virus.
