Hi Alex, sorry no one responded faster, it is the weekend here in the states and no one is working 🙂 Did you not have a serial key for your student version? I'm not sure on the process for that but if you had one, you need to use the same key when you upgrade. I will reach out to the license team and see what you need.

Hi Alex,

You can find your serial number and product key in the accounts portal. http://manage.autodesk.com

Under the products and services tab you will see the products associated with your account. If your license is Serial number based, you will see the product key and SN. I have attached a Maya LT example.

If your license is user based (i.e. no serial number) you would only need to log in with your account, when the application starts. However since your post mentions that its prompting you’re for a SN already it tells me that you have selected ‘Standalone’ (serial number based) license mode. Should you need to change this, the easiest way to reset your selection is to rename the following file "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\A72H1_2016.0.0.F\LGS.data" when you start the application again you will be promoted to choose User or Standalone licensing again.

Additional details can be found here in the Stingray Installation supplement.

http://help.autodesk.com/cloudhelp/ENU/Stingray-Install/files/GUID-2835E17D-888F-459E-A622-0CD8ED983A91.htm

Cheers,

Hi Alex,

So my first question is, do you have a serial number?

Once I know if your license is tied to your account "USER" based license, or a Serial Number "Standalone" license I can assist you more.

Cheers
