Hi Jason,

Importing of assets into Stingray is handled by bringing in an FBX file. The dcc tools can communicate this via the plugins for both Max and Maya. Is there a specific area you need help in? How/why are you automating the process? You can always just click 'send to Stingray' and the models will be imported. Do you need more functionality than that?

Hi,

I'm building a script to automate the extraction of assets out of Maya. There are about 60+ assets currently and I would like to automatically tell stingray to import these assets. I notice that there is a communication pipe to send sommands, but it is not clear what commands I should send to get stingray to import the asset.

Thanks,

Jason

After offline discussion with Dan, we determined that we could use the command exposed in the Send to Stingray to automate the export of data. I required everything be handled via a script because Maya is invoked as a batch process.
