You can keep whichever version you want for as long as you want... have you tried the migrate settings before? It really doesn't take too much time to configure new installations of AutoCAD using this method.

Keeping the same AutoCAD version for a couple of years, is it possible?

Hello I used AutoCAD 2013 for 6 years now and I am preparing my transition to get the new revisions with the new licensing leasing methods. I am not 100% sure but I understand that with that new licensing method, I should get a new revision of AutoCAD each year. 2020, 2021, 2022, etc.

My question is the following: Is there a licensing method existing and where I could let keep the same revision of AutoCAD for a couple of years, 3, 4, 5 years? This would save some valuable configuration time for me.

Perhaps things changed since 2013 and perhaps the new upgrades will keep all my customization by default, I just don't know yet: my custom keyboard keys, my custom tool bars, my custom profile, custom colors and other configurations.

Anyone with the same concerns and what are your solutions?

Thanks.

Something was misread. You aren't forced to upgrade with each new release, and you can have multiple versions installed at the same time.

I know it's fine when it's time to re-create a windows user with the same revision of Autocad, I used the migration tool a couple of time with 2013 to save my configs. But I am not sure the files from 2013 would work with 2020, I never tried.
