Could you tell me how to join the wall?

Hi,

>> Could you tell me how to join the wall?

"the wall" ... which one, in your images there are a lot of walls.

Also sorry, you show pictures containing

Polygon Mesh (in IMG_2412.jpg)

Region (in IMG_2410.jpg)

3D-Solid (in IMG_2413.jpg)

How should we now know what you really have as geometry you are working with...

I would recommend to take a class for 3D construction, a forum is not a replacement for training.

You last posts are not about specific questions, that's more about missing global knowledge about handling 3D geometry with AutoCAD.

Also please look to that information about how to create screenshots in Windows >>>click<<<

You do have a mixture of geometry types in your model. Is it possible to attach it or perhaps just the walls so I can take a look and show you some steps to get this more uniform and easier with which to work?

You will need to share your file with me so i can see all the types of construction you have already created. When "joining" walls in AutoCAD it does not "self-join" or "heal" like walls behave in Revit or SketchUp. It is a much more "manual" process to get them connected.

Hi,

I took a look at your .dwg

You have used a lot of different types of objects. There are Solids, Meshes, Regions, Surfaces, and 3Dpolylines in your drawing. All representing 3D objects.

For your original question I could not union the different walls because they are regions placed together.
I took one of those regions and turned it into a 3DSOLID by exploding it and extruding the contour.
You would still need to subtract the windows and the door opening, but it is a start.

In general it is better to start drawing directly from 3D objects instead of trying to put 2D objects together and then later sculpting them into 3D objects.

In attachment you can find your original .dwg with the basic 3Dsolid I made from the top region.

To create the 'holes' for the windows and doors you can just draw closed 2Dpolylines and use _presspull or _extrude to _subtract the shapes from the solid.

I hope this helps you somewhat.

I opened my DWG.

So, that you mean exactly about ''to start drawing directly from 3D objects''? Do you mean 3D templates?

Also, how I should to transfer my all furniture in new basic 3Dsolid that you made?

P.S My house template toolbar to changed. Now it is look like that (I added image). Do you know how I come back in the same place?

You will see first that using -DWGUNITS, I verify that my drawing units are in inches as it appears you are from the US. Then I use Units to verify that I am in Architectural units and that I have set my Angle Precision to be pretty high. I did this as I noted that many of your walls are not actually perpendicular but off a very slight amount. I am unsure what units you are working in as many of the rooms did not look to be a realistic size. I believe that you have another thread about furniture models and how to get the scale right for insertion into your model. It is imperative that you work with real world dimensions and draw at 1:1. Then, if the furniture is drawn in MM's you can apply a scale factor.

Once I have the 2D walls in place, I then use Presspull to bring them up to a specified height. I show in my video how you can make the Presspull easier by only working one one part of the 2D plan at a time. I also show that once you have a height of a solid that it can be adjusted later. Lastly, I show how you can use UNION to join solids.
