Thanks!!

In all my 20 years of using autocad,

I have never used that.

It is perfect for making arrowheads.

I'm sure there must be other uses for it as well.

it's just an option to use . it's used to specify the width from the center of a wide segment to an edge and the value will also save in WIDTH option .

thanks for your answer So there is no particular reason for it? Because it seems to make it harder, especially since the decimal number is ours.

Hi,

Sometimes I use it to create arrow heads using halfwidth.

Halfwidth- Starting width - 10, Ending width - 0.

>> Consider the width we are considering is 235.718. Why should I enter half of it?

Not sure if you understood that "Halfwidth" is one of the options, you don't need to use it if you want to input the full width then use option "Width".

There are a lot of options available that one never need while some other people might need it. Don't care about it if your workflow does not need a "Halfwidth" option.

In my opinion, the principal use for that option is that it makes picking the width on-screen (rather than typing in a value) easier. Calling for the Half-width option gives a rubber-band off the latest vertex location [which is at the mid-line of the Polyline path], and from there you can pick what will be the location on the edge of the resulting overall width. Sometimes that is determined by something you can Snap to, so you don't need to know the actual value, etc.
