Ok I have a question. I have a PDF of a existing floor plan 1st and 2nd floor. The last time I imported a pdf into AutoCAD I could explode it and then I could use it as a .dwg file so I didn't have to redraw the whole plan again. Now when I import the drawing I can't do that. How I can get this to do that again ?

what version of CAD are you using now and is the PDF a vector PDF or a raster PDF?

I'm using 2017 and honestly I'm not sure I was sent the PDF from a Architect I doing plans for on the side to help him out. Here is the PDF

It's a scan, you can do NOTHING with it in AutoCAD except insert it as a pretty picture then draw over it as you eyeball the weird angles.

ok sounds good. That is what I was thinking but wasn't sure. I will just import both and then do the tracing of it or have him do the tracing of it.

These are definitely raster. as @pendean mentioned you cannot open this in CAD and do what you were intending.

I would try to get a vector format of the PDF. if the architect has the orignal DWG i would see if i could get that as well.

If both of these are out of the question you are going to have to trace it or you can try using somthign like Raster Design: https://www.autodesk.com/products/autocad-raster-design/overview

I'm not sure if raster design is part of a collection, but if it is and if you are on a subscription it may be available to you.
