Hello all, I am having trouble creating a new UCS height for conduit application.

For example, I want to set my UCS to a Floor Level 1 height of 60' & I need to install the conduit to a height of 12'.

No matter how I change the elevation of the UCS, the height of the pipe still appears as 72' & I would like for the conduit to have a height of 12' instead. How can I set an elevation to where it affects my conduit? I can adjust the UCS to get the results I want with 3d solids, but not default blocks like conduit or cable tray.

Two options for you...

1. Type UCS and enter the new origin that you need (eg. 0,0,60').

or

2. Use the 3-point UCS icon command on the Home ribbon of the 3D Modeling workspace. You will be prompted for a new origin point.

Both of these options will allow you to create a new UCS that is set at 60' so that when you draw something 12' in height it will be at 72' in the WCS height.

If your new UCS/s are important to you then consider saving them in the Named UCS dialog box. You access this via the +UCSMAN command or use the corner arrow on the Coordinates panel of the Home ribbon.

Is this what you were looking for?

@Anonymous wrote:

.... I want to set my UCS to a Floor Level 1 height of 60' & I need to install the conduit to a height of 12'. ....

I don't quite understand, either.... Does that mean you want the conduit at 12' above that 60' floor level, or 12' relative to 0', that is, 48' below that floor level? When in the 60'-floor-level UCS, what are you doing exactly to install it at 12' [as @pendean asked]?

Depending on what you are really after, you may be able to get it by using the ELEVATION System Variable rather than [or in conjunction with] UCS.
