Hello,

We change plotter recently in our company and we having this issues. When i sent 10 drawings to plotter using batch plotting function. other people print job also comes in between my print. its overlapping printing job by other users. so its very time consuming to separate drawings.

anyone have idea, why its not going as one block, before with our old printer it was going as one block.

Hi @Anonymous

It sounds as if the system variable PUBLISHCOLLATE was set to 0. This controls whether plotting a sheet set, multi-sheet plot file, or plot spool file can be interrupted by other plot jobs. Publishing sheets as a single job requires a plot driver that supports the multi-sheet plotting or printing option.

Type PUBLISHCOLLATE at the command line and set it to 1.

Now, try a publish job and see if things behave the way you are used to.

Hi John,

i tried publsihcollate at 1 and there was no change. I switched back to 0 again and also tried to batch plot, same issue. overlapping other users plot job.

1 and 0 both not making any changes.

do you have any other suggestion?

Thank you,

DP

Hi @Anonymous,

That is the setting in AutoCAD that should control this behavior. Since it did not seem to make a difference, I suggest taking a closer look at the Windows Printer driver and how you are actually sending the print job to the printer.

What kind of hardware did you just install? Which driver version are you using? Is the printer driver installed locally or is it pushed from a server? Do you print to a print server or are you sending the job straight to the IP address of the printer?

All of these details can affect how your print job comes out without being interrupted.

have you tried to create a single pdf with multiple pages and send that to your plotter?

does that get interrupted by other plot jobs?
