Hi all,

I am having an issue with constraints when I apply them to blocks in a drawing with a UCS.

When I insert a block into the drawing, I am able to manipulate its position relative to the UCS and current position. As soon as I add any constraints to the block, and try manipulate it, it seems to move relative to the WCS.

For example: the UCS is set at 47°, when I move the constrained block (only one constraint at this point) the cursor shows that I am moving at 90°, but the block actually moves at 137°.

If you also want to move this block from one point to a snap on another object, the block doesn't move relative to the cursor, but at some, seemingly random, ratio between the relative selection point and the distance being moved.

I can't seem to find anything that helps me figure out what is going on here...

Has anyone had this issue / or knows what it is?

Thanks,

Neill

Hi @njbrien

When you change your UCS are you applying the PLAN command? Since you can rotate your axes with respect to the new UCS, so place your UCS and once established type PLAN, press enter and then enter. Maybe your block works well,

I put a link of the command PLAN (Current UCS Generates to plan view in the current viewport relative to the XY plane of the current UCS.)

I hope it helps you

If my publication solved your concern Accept the SOLUTION

Oswaldo Caballero

Instructor ATC

Autodesk AutoCAD Certified User

Venezuela
