I'm not sure the ET issue and the command abbreviations problem are related. Did you actually open and edit your ACAD.PGP file at any point? or is one reloaded for you when you restart your AutoCAD variants?

One of the express tools commands came up "unknown", so I followed the instructions from the post: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-2013-2014-2015-2016/express-tools-loaded-but-none-of-the-commands-working/td-p/3784957

I did this yesterday and once I was done, I had no problems. I left AutoCAD running all night and when I came in this morning to pick up where I left off on the drawing I was working on, some of my commands changed. For example, I use "X" exclusively for EXPLODE, but now it comes up with XCLIP and the explode command is down on the list in 10th place. Also, I could use both "CO" and "CP" for copy, but now "CP" only comes up with CPLOTSTYLE and CPROFILE as my only two options on the list.

Any ideas what might have caused this and how to fix it? Our company's AutoCAD guru has left and we don't have anyone yet to replace him.

I'm running Factory Design Suite 2015 and using AutoCAD Mechanical 2015. I have a Windows PC with Windows 7 64-bit OS.

No I didn't edit the pgp file. It was missing though when I went to look for it and I had to grab the one off of my co-workers computer. He doesn't have the problems that I have and we thought that would fix my issue, but when I loaded the one he sent me, I still have the shortcut problems. I noticed today while I was working, there are more shortcuts that come up different than before. It seems like the problem is somewhere in my settings, but I'm not sure where to look. I know I had to load the cuix file to get some commands working for express tools. Maybe tomorrow I'll go back into there and try reloading the cuix file and see if that fixes anything. If you think of any other ideas I could try, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

At the commandline, type this exactly as you see it (or copy/paste):

(startapp "notepad" (findfile "acad.pgp"))

This will open the correct PGP file that your session is using: examine it for errors. Remember to use REINIT command to reload that PGP after you edit it. Also remember, if you add your needed shortcuts at the bottom of the PGP file they overwrite the ones at the top of that file.

OK I copied and pasted it into my command line and it came up "nil". I attached a screen shot so you can see it. Does that mean nothing is loaded? I went to the alias editor and scrolled through the list and the commands are coming up correctly, but functioning correctly. The alias editor shows that 'x' is for explode, but when I type it in to the command line, it comes up xclip. I also included 'b' becuase the command line comes up block editor (bedit) first instead of the block command. I attached 2 screen shots of the alias editor window.

I'm going to try overwrite the 'acad' files in the support folder with the ones my co-worker sent to me, maybe that might trigger a fix.

Thanks again Dean!

Yeah!!! I noticed that in my file support path that it wasn't pointing to the correct folder. So I added the path and restarted and viola! it's working now. Don't know how that removed from the list though. Strange, but now it's fixed.

I appreciate all your help Dean!
