Hello!

I've been facing a weird situation for the past few days. My AutoCAD 2016 won't print the "dots" hatch. And I said print, not plot, because whenever I create the .PDF file, the hatch will show the same way I've set it to be, but whenever I actually print, it won't show.

I've also considered that it was my plotter, but I've tried to print it in several different machines and it also didn't work.

That made me consider it was a problem in my .CTB file. I've switched ctbs and it worked in a different one, just as it was supposed to be. But I need to use the original CTB, because the layers are all configured according to it. And also, the file is huge, and it's impracticable to switch all the layers.

I'm not sure if someone can tell me something other than "just create a different .CTB file", but I thought maybe this has happened to somebody else, or maybe someone thinks of something other than what I've considered already.

Help!!!

Thank you! Have a good one!

Hi @Anonymous,

I suggest that you change the lineweight for that layer of print that one color slightly heavier. This happens a bit with that particular hatch pattern. There are other patterns out on the web that look similar but print more reliably.

My first thought was also that it's a lineweight issue -- the dots in that pattern [and others, and in some linetypes] are actually zero-length lines, and they are really tiny if you use too light a lineweight. I usually change Hatch patterns with dots to a color that plots heavier than the color of their Layer, if there are also Hatches with lines in them on the same Layer, so that the dots will show up better without making the lines heavier, too.
