Hi Mark,

I am glad that worked for you. (I double-click even when I sleep - old habits)

Yes, your posts stay here for a long time before they get archived (we are talking years now).

The way I like to search is using the Advanced Search at the top right of the web page. I would suggest you give it a go and search by author

An odd one this evening...

I'm wanting to change the width of one single item of text so it fits into a box. I select the text, and go to "Properties". I see every aspect of detail about the text EXCEPT Width Factor. Any ideas? (attached screenshot)

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark - I missed you since you have been so quiet this week!

So, tell me what the final intent is in your problem. Do you have a "box" of geometry or a fixed width that you are trying to fit some text into?

If you doubleclick in the mtext, you will see at the top ribbon, the Mtext panel.

If you look for the Formatting dropdown arrow I think you will see what you are looking for.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Thanks John, exactly what I needed.

How does one know to double-click in the text itself to bring up and new ribbon item?

Always a pleasure dealing with you, John, you are a knowledgeable, personable chap who doesn't just answer the questions, but teaches in a manner to future educate so the user can think for themselves and solve some of the more simple things themselves. Hats off to you, Sir. I'm all about teaching a man to fish, rather than just giving him the fish. You go through the necessary steps to show why things are done the way the are, so us lesser mortals can understand and remember these things when we need them the next time.

P.S. Thanks for the humour. I always wanted there to be a place where everybody knew my name. At the time, I wasn't really thinking it would be the AutoCAD forums...

Since this was such an easy one, I've come up with a part 2.

The threads we create here are available at least for a little while, right? Just checking as I don't want to ask the same thing twice. I should be able to... ...trace and backtrack my previous questions through... My Account?

Yes/No/Maybe??

Thanks John!

Mark
