Hi,

Can someone please explain to me what the dashed rectangle is in paper space? After looking at other forums/posts, I've read that it's the 'printing background.' As in, only what is in that area is printed. I'm really confused because I set my paper size to A3 (420x297), but that made the 'uniform background' the A3 size, the dashed line is not even close to an A3 size.

If it has nothing to do with the paper size then what is it's purpose? It's bugging the hell out of me because I want to make sure i'm plotting correctly.

Hi and Welcome to AutoDesk Forum,

you have to prepare your plotting settings from PAGESETUP command in the Layout then and when you finish all of your settings ( see attached image) Set it to current and it will be as you need.

@Anonymous wrote ( ... because I want to make sure i'm plotting correctly. ) all what you have to do is to attache you sheet frame (A3) to the

layout then make your VP in proper way. NOW for plotting you can follow the :

- after Crtl+p a dialoge will appear go and select from Page Setup your already prepared settings.

- forget all the previous steps and Ctrl+p prepare your settings and plot.

Note:

- you have to make sure that the scale is proper with your drawings and VP.

- you can control all Layout elements from options \ Display \ Layout elements.
