Hi @Anonymous,

Yes that information helps. This is the standard behavior. One of the drawings has to be open in order to use print or publish. Because, in essence, you haven't really opened the set until you have a drawing open.

Ok, not sure if this is the right forum, so forgive me. I open autocad (civil 3d) and have a Drawing1 tab and the start tab. I click on the start tab and go to open sheetset. I open the sheetset I want, but its all greyed out. I have to open a drawing, any drawing at that, to do anything with sheetset. Why? Isn't the Drawing1 that automatically opens a drawing? Am I doing something wrong, or is there a work around?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Andy W.

Hi Andy,

What you are describing doesn't sound right.

If I start AutoCAD (2017) and click on Start Drawing, a new Drawing 1 tab opens. I can then Open> Sheet Set> select one of my sets and none of the items are grayed out.

Is this behavior happening on any of your sheetsets? To only ones on a network vs local? To old ones created in a previous version?

Give me some details and also tell me which version of AutoCAD you are using and on which operating system.

Ok, in your process you're essentially starting a new drawing which, when you open sheet set manager, its not grayed out. What I'm asking is, on the start tab, open sheet set, the sheet set is grayed out. Why?

Andy

Hope this makes sense.

Hi dtdandy, I am not sure why they are grayed out. Can you attach a couple so I can take a look at them?

Mine appear fine when I select the Open a Sheet Set from the Get started page

Ok, I realize that I'm not explaining my question correctly. My bad. I've included a screen shot. What I wasn't mentioning is when I right click on either the Sheetset or one of the drawings in the sheetset, it is grayed out, as shown on the right side of the screen shot. I can only close the entire sheet set or if I right click on one of the sheets, I can only open it. I'm just wanting to print, but cannot unless i have a drawing, any drawing open. Thats where we come back to, isn't Drawing 1 on the tab an open drawing?

Sorry for not clearly explaining myself in the original post.

Thanks,

Andy
